W 11:30AM-2:30PM lec EEEI 307 CONCEALED Prerequisite: The prerequisite for this course is a fundamental understanding of electromagnetism (EEE 23/135) and a little bit of knowledge on communication systems (EEE 107/147); Description: Welcome to ECE 197M, a deep dive into the applications of electromagnetism in communication systems. In this course, we will reintroduce the concept of transmission lines and electrically large circuits or circuits whose dimensions are much larger than the wavelength of the sinusoid that drives it. We will also talk about antennas, propagation of electromagnetic waves, and the design of high-frequency amplifiers. This course is intended to be taken by students who are interested in communication systems and high-frequency systems as their capstone project. It is also for students who are interested in learning the applications of electromagnetism in the field of electronic communication systems. |
